Kurt Cobain's smashed guitar sells for almost $600K at auction.

Kurt Cobain's smashed Fender Stratocaster guitar, featuring signatures of Nirvana's three members and a handwritten inscription by Cobain, sold for $595,000 at a rock music memorabilia auction in New York City. The guitar was heavily damaged while Nirvana was recording their "Nevermind" album in the early 1990s and was later reassembled. Other items sold at the auction included Nirvana's set list from their debut performance of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and an oversized poster of the "Nevermind" album cover.
