Tina Turner's Legacy Honored by Music Legends and Fans Alike.
TL;DR
John Fogerty paid tribute to Tina Turner during his concert in Manchester by dedicating his hit song "Proud Mary" to her. The song was a breakthrough hit for Turner in 1971 and was originally written by Fogerty immediately after receiving his discharge papers from the US army in 1968. Fogerty reminisced about touring with Turner in 2000 and watching her perform the song on TV every week. He will continue his tour with his next show at the O2 Arena in London on May 29.
