Martin Short's wellness check uncovers daughter's death

Martin Short initiated a wellness check for his daughter Katherine Short after not hearing from her for more than 24 hours. Police found her dead in her home, and the autopsy ruled suicide. Katherine had a history of depression and a prior suicide attempt, with benzodiazepines in her system. She was the adopted daughter of Martin Short and his late wife Nancy Dolman and worked as a social worker after graduating from NYU.
