Lamont Sanford Star Grady Demond Wilson Dies at 79

Grady Demond Wilson, who portrayed Lamont Sanford on NBC’s Sanford and Son, died at 79 at his Palm Springs home from cancer complications. Born Oct. 13, 1946 in Valdosta, Georgia, he grew up in New York, made his Broadway debut as a child, served in Vietnam, and later starred in Baby... I'm Back! and The New Odd Couple, among other TV and film roles; he was an evangelist and ordained minister, married Cicely Johnston in 1974, and left six children and multiple grandchildren.
