Trailblazing TV marketer Sheri Herman Dies at 71

Sheri Herman, a pioneering marketing and programming executive who helped launch E! and led American Cybercast, died at 71 on Aug. 6 from heart failure at her home in Telogia, Florida. Her career included shaping E!'s brand and launching The Spot, the first web soap opera, and she predicted the shift of eyeballs from TV to PC, though a 2007 hit-and-run ended her public-facing work.
