Background

This event marked AEW’s debut in Paris, taking place at the adidas Arena. It followed a period of declining viewership for AEW Dynamite, which had hit a ten-week low in August. The results were previewed in our archive from October 7, which noted the strong card and the setup for WrestleDream. The event also followed AEW Collision, where Queen Aminata earned her title shot by defeating Julia Hart.

How outlets are covering it

Fightful provided the raw results, confirming all title defenses. Bleacher Report offered detailed match grades, giving the Ospreay-Okada main event an A- and the Allin-Fletcher bout a B+. AEW’s official preview emphasized the historical rivalry between Ospreay and Okada, noting Ospreay’s 2-9 record against him. Bleacher Report highlighted the crowd’s energy and the lack of interference, describing the show as a 'mini PPV.'

Why it matters

The event established the final contenders for the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream and solidified the current title holders' status. It also demonstrated AEW’s ability to deliver high-quality content in an international market, potentially boosting viewership after a recent dip.

What to watch

AEW will air the event on Tuesday night, followed by the main event of AEW Collision. The next major event is WrestleDream in Orlando on October 17, where the Clockwork Carnage match will take place.
