ABC Orders The Rookie: North to Series, Expands Franchise for Midseason

ABC has ordered The Rookie: North to series for 10 episodes with a midseason premiere, expanding The Rookie universe. The spinoff from The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley and Lionsgate TV stars Jay Ellis as Alex Holland and will feature crossovers with the mothership, including a pilot cameo by Nathan Fillion’s John Nolan, who also executive produces both shows. The Rookie: North is set in the Pacific Northwest, filmed in Vancouver, and Hawley will run both The Rookie and The Rookie: North; this follows The Rookie: Feds as the franchise’s second spinoff.
