TL;DR

Amazon Prime Video's new series "Cross" successfully captures the essence of James Patterson's character Alex Cross, focusing on racial dynamics and authentic social settings. While the show excels in depicting Cross's personal life and community, it falls into clichéd territory with its serial-killer plot, reminiscent of Patterson's formulaic thrillers. Aldis Hodge's portrayal of Cross adds depth, but the series could benefit from exploring more realistic and complex societal issues rather than relying on tired crime tropes.
