Authorized Gilmore Girls Documentary Heads to HBO Max

An official Gilmore Girls documentary is in production and set to debut on HBO Max. Directed by Bonni Cohen and produced by Sony Pictures Television’s This Machine, the untitled film is told from series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino’s perspective and will include never-before-seen outtakes, behind-the-scenes footage and script pages. The project will feature Lauren Graham and other key cast and crew, with executive producers including R.J. Cutler, Jane Cha Cutler, the Palladinos, Mark Blatty, Elise Pearlstein and Trevor Smith. It marks the first authorized documentary about Gilmore Girls, exploring how the show became a cross-generational phenomenon.
