TL;DR

Apple TV+'s new dramedy The Big Door Prize, created by David West Read, is a charming and absurd portrait of the town of Deerfield, whose residents' lives are turned upside-down when a strange machine appears promising to help them "Discover Your Life Potential." While the ensemble cast and philosophical underpinnings are enjoyable, the show's interest in "answers" and "explanations" far outstrips its preference for ephemeral spirituality, making it more suited for an allegorical reading than an ongoing series.
