DreamWorks Assistant’s Imposter Lands HBO Development Deal

DreamWorks Animation assistant Kalos Chu sold his drama spec Imposter after a bidding war among HBO, Netflix and Amazon, with HBO taking it to development and including an option for a writers room. The project will be executive produced by Lauren LeFranc (The Penguin) via Acid and Tender Productions under her HBO overall deal, with Rachel Jacobs also aboard. Imposter marks Chu’s first writing credit; he created and developed it while at DWA and will be leaving the studio to help staff the project’s team, after interning at multiple studios and production roles during his path to Hollywood.
