Sony Launches Free Live TV on PS5 to Target Gamers With Ad-Supported Channels

Sony Pictures Television is launching Live TV on PS5, a free, ad-supported package of more than 100 channels accessible on PlayStation 5 (with Bravia TVs to follow) and starting in the U.S. with Canada later. The lineup includes ABC News Live, Fox Sports/LiveNOW, NBC News Now, NFL Channel, eCLUTCH, Crunchyroll anime channels, and series such as The Walking Dead, plus films like The Hunger Games. Sony says the service helps reach the gaming audience that’s hard to reach with traditional connected-TV ads, partnering with Publica and PubMatic for targeted ad delivery across devices. With roughly 95 million PS5s sold, the move signals a FAST-like shift to bridge content and advertising for PlayStation users.
