Laura Linney Joins Lanterns Cast Ahead of HBO/DC Series Debut

Laura Linney has joined Lanterns, the HBO/DC Studios series based on Green Lantern lore, joining stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre. The ensemble also includes Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson and Jasmine Cephas Jones. Lanterns follows intergalactic cops John Stewart and Hal Jordan as they investigate a murder in the American heartland; showrunner Chris Mundy calls it a buddy cop show as much as a superhero show. The series is produced by HBO with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, with a pilot directed by James Hawes and executive produced by Mundy, Lindelof, King, James Gunn and Peter Safran. Lanterns premieres August 16 on HBO and HBO Max.
