Deadline reports that Reid Scott is leaving Law & Order after three seasons; James Badge Dale will join as a new Senior Detective to replace him, with Scott wrapping up his arc before Dale debuts. Scott cited the cross-country commute and time away from family as reasons for his exit. Season 26 premieres Oct. 8 with Dale joining a revived cast that includes Tony Goldwyn, Hugh Dancy, Maura Tierney and Odelya Halevi.
