Murphy’s The Shards Premieres August on FX/Hulu

Ryan Murphy’s upcoming drama The Shards, based on Bret Easton Ellis’ prep-school thriller, will debut August 5 on FX and Hulu, with Disney+ streaming internationally; set in 1981 Los Angeles at Buckley prep, it follows a privileged senior Bret as a mysterious new student arrives amid a serial killer spree known as The Trawler; Igby Rigney stars as Bret, with Homer Gere as Robert Mallory, and Kaia Gerber, Hayes Warner, Graham Campbell, Wes Bentley, Evan Rachel Wood and Jordan Roth in the ensemble; the series is produced by 20th Television and Murphy Productions with Murphy among executive producers.
