NBC Bets on Rockford Files Reboot and Line of Fire to Series

NBC has ordered two drama pilots to series for the 2026–27 season: a Rockford Files reboot starring David Boreanaz as James Rockford and Line of Fire, a serialized cop drama (formerly Protection), both produced by Universal Television. They were among NBC’s five drama pilots, with three other projects not moving forward. The network says the pair should pair well with existing hits like Law & Order: SVU and Chicago PD; the Rockford Files reboot also stars Michaela McManus, Felix Solis and Jacki Weaver, while Line of Fire features Peter Krause, Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom and Charlie Barnett.
