TL;DR

Nigella Lawson has been named the new judge for The Great British Bake Off, replacing Prue Leith and joining Paul Hollywood. Lawson, a long-standing British TV cooking personality, said she’s daunted yet excited to take on the role, as the show—which moved from the BBC to Channel 4 and streams on Netflix in the U.S. as The Great British Baking Show—continues its high-profile run, with Leith having departed recently and Bake Off maintaining strong ratings (Season 16 peaked at 8.7 million viewers in 2025).
