CBS unveiled NCIS: New York, a fast-tracked spinoff centered on LL Cool J’s Sam Hanna returning to his New York City roots to lead a new team alongside co-lead Scott Caan. The project moved from first conversations to greenlight in about five months, with R. Scott Gemmill scripting, Byron Balasco set to run the series, and a 20-episode order anticipated.
