TL;DR

Deadline confirms that Martin Gero's Stargate reboot ordered by Prime Video in 2025 will not move forward at Amazon MGM Studios due to leadership changes and a shift in the streamer’s programming strategy; with a 20-week writers room completed and UK pre-production underway, the project was canceled outright rather than retooled, as Gero focuses on other projects under his deal while MGM may revisit the IP with a different showrunner in the future.
