SNL Weekend Update Satirizes Trump's Passport Portrait and Charles’ Royal Visit
TL;DR
NBC’s Saturday Night Live Weekend Update skewers the Trump administration’s plan to place Trump’s portrait on the inside of some passports and pokes at King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s state visit tied to the Declaration of Independence anniversary, with Colin Jost joking that a passport portrait would remind you why you fled and that it’s burning a hole in the Declaration; the segment also jabs at royal diplomacy—Charles’ meetings, a bell from a British submarine given to Trump, and a quip about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—as it lampoons both the presidency and the royal visit.
