Cruel Intentions Reboot: A Missed Opportunity in YA Drama
TL;DR
Prime Video's reboot of 'Cruel Intentions' fails to capture the allure of the original film, offering a stale and unsexy retelling. Set in a college environment, the series follows stepsiblings Caroline and Lucien as they manipulate freshman Annie to preserve Greek life. Despite its attempts to modernize the story, the show lacks originality and the seductive menace of its predecessor, making it unlikely to appeal to either fans of the original or new viewers.
