TL;DR

ABC renewed its remaining comedies Scrubs (Season 2) and Shifting Gears (Season 3) for the 2026-27 season, with no episode counts disclosed; R.J. Decker remains on the bubble at roughly 50-50, as ABC weighs its drama slate and potential budget shifts to possibly order The Rookie: North in addition to the renewals. Do You Want Kids? did not move forward. Both comedies posted solid ratings, with Scrubs delivering strong Live+7 numbers and Shifting Gears topping ABC’s linear comedy viewership, signaling continued strength for the network’s comedy lineup.
