Kratos Recast As God Of War Lead After On-Set Injury

Deadline reports Prime Video’s God Of War will recast Kratos after lead Ryan Hurst sustained a serious on-set bicep tear that required surgery; production paused, with mid-August prep for a mid-October start and four completed episodes to be reshot by a new actor, while Callum Vinson continues as Atreus. Hurst’s recovery could take months to a year, potentially delaying filming into 2027. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with PlayStation Productions, with Ronald D. Moore at the helm and a Vancouver shoot.
