Watson Creator Reflects on Two-Season Run and an Unmade Season 3

Deadline spoke with Watson creator Craig Sweeny about the CBS drama’s two-season run and its finale: Season 2 ended with Watson traveling for surgery while Sherlock, in Baker Street, appeared in a final coda that could hint at a future for Watson and Mary, though CBS canceled the series. Sweeny explained that Season 3 would have continued Watson’s medical arc, concluded fellowship stories for Ingrid, Stephens, Adam and Sasha, and introduced new doctors, while keeping the show’s case-driven edge. He also praised the warm, collaborative set and reflected on producing 33 episodes of Watson.
