Parents sue D4vd for wrongful death in teen Celeste's murder

Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s parents filed a Los Angeles County civil lawsuit against rapper/singer D4vd (David Anthony Burke) and his associates, alleging wrongful death and negligence in the 14‑year‑old’s death. The suit, which names Burke’s mother, managers, and his publishing/merchandising companies as defendants, accuses Burke of abusing his position to control Celeste and of trafficking, sexual abuse and other crimes tied to their relationship. Celeste’s remains were found in the front trunk of Burke’s Tesla in 2025; Burke has been charged with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation and has pleaded not guilty. The parents say Burke sent an Uber to pick Celeste up the night she died, describe ongoing manipulation, and, this week, asked for the death penalty; the civil case seeks damages and a jury trial.
