Kanye West announces two Russia gigs amid ongoing controversy
TL;DR
Rapper Kanye West has announced two October shows in Saint Petersburg at Gazprom Arena, marking his biggest Western appearance in Russia since the invasion of Ukraine; tickets sold out quickly as he attempts to rehabilitate his image after years of antisemitic remarks that led to European tour cancellations and a UK entry ban. West has apologized, attributing prior comments to a manic episode linked to bipolar disorder, while his touring plans reflect a cautious return amid ongoing controversy.
