How outlets are covering it

411MANIA rated the show 8.0, praising the follow-up to Heatwave and the potential for Zilla Fatu as a new face. F4WOnline focused on the booking of the six-man tag and the two title matches set for the next week. Last Word On Sports highlighted Naraku's use of the mist, noting that Shiloh Hill's research did not prevent his loss. WWE.com provided highlights of the key matches and segments, emphasizing the chaos of the closing segment.

Why it matters

The episode sets the stage for the next month of NXT programming, with a clear path to a new #1 contender for the NXT Title and a women's title defense. The use of the mist by Naraku also raises questions about the future of that storyline in the men's division.

What to watch

Next week's episode will feature a six-man tag team match, a women's title defense between Kelani Jordan and Jaida Parker, and a North American title match between Jackson Drake and Tavion Heights.
