"Rising Concerns: Fatal Deer Disease Threatens Wildlife and Humans"

Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), also known as 'zombie deer disease,' is on the rise in Kansas and 30 other states, posing a threat to wildlife and the hunting industry. The disease, which affects deer, elk, and moose, is fatal and spreads through contaminated body fluids and tissue. Experts from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) are monitoring a rise in CWD cases and recommend hunters to use E-tagging, avoid large deer gatherings, have deer tested for CWD, report sick deer sightings, and continue hunting to help control the disease.
