"Cannabis May Boost Workout Pleasure but Not Performance, Research Suggests"

A study from the University of Colorado published in Sports Medicine suggests that using marijuana before exercising can increase enjoyment and the sensation of a "runner's high," but may also lead to greater feelings of exertion. The study, which is considered a first in examining the acute effects of commercially available cannabis on exercise in a lab setting, found these effects regardless of THC or CBD dominance, with CBD users reporting greater enjoyment and less exertion increase. Despite potential benefits, participants also reported more exertion during post-cannabis activity, especially with THC-dominant products. The research contributes to a growing body of evidence on marijuana's effects on exercise and physical activity.
