Douglas County Combats MPOX with Dating Apps and Vaccination Campaign

The Douglas County Health Department in Nebraska is using dating apps to target its latest public health campaign warning about the risks of MPOX, a disease that largely affects gay and bisexual men who have sex with other men. The department is hoping to get a head start on prevention by targeting those at highest risk of the illness. The campaign directs users to an online landing page with information about MPOX and allows them to sign up for a vaccination appointment. The department has administered 758 first doses of the vaccine and 678 second doses since it began offering the shots.
