The Ministry of Health in St Kitts and Nevis has issued tips on curbing the spread of Acute Gastroenteritis as several children and adults have been diagnosed with and treated for gastroenteritis in the country. Gastroenteritis is typically caused by a virus or bacteria and can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, and fever. Prevention measures include avoiding contaminated water and food, washing hands frequently, and not sharing towels or utensils. Treatment is usually supportive and aimed at avoiding dehydration.
