The second case of West Nile virus has been confirmed in Connecticut, with the patient being a resident of Hartford County. The individual, aged between 50 and 59, became ill in August and required hospitalization but has since been released. State health officials emphasize the seriousness of the infection and advise taking precautions to avoid mosquito bites, such as using insect repellent and avoiding outdoor activities during dusk and dawn.
