A planned Easter egg hunt at Shankweiler’s Drive-In Theatre with more than 3,000 hidden eggs devolved into a stampede when participants rushed the eggs before the official start, leaving many children in tears. The event was abandoned, and the venue canceled future hunts while other Pennsylvania locations faced similar chaos and posted apologies. Organizers are now brainstorming safer, more inclusive spring activities.
