Multiple Fatalities Reported in Recent Amtrak Train-Vehicle Crashes.

A train-car crash in Mobile, Alabama has claimed one life. The driver of the car, Chadwick Timmons, was killed when he allegedly attempted to cross the railroad while the safety arms were active and indicating an oncoming train. The Amtrak train was traveling from New Orleans to Mobile as part of a qualification run for its planned new passenger rail service along the Gulf Coast. An investigation is ongoing, and there have been no reported injuries to the crew onboard.
