Multiple Injuries Reported as BART Train Collides with Truck on Oakland Tracks

A BART train collided with a pickup truck that crashed onto the trackway between the Fruitvale and Lake Merritt Stations in Oakland, causing evacuations and injuries. The operator of the train was taken to the hospital, and at least one passenger was reported to be injured. The truck driver was tended to at the scene by Oakland police, who conducted a field sobriety test. BART service between Coliseum and Lake Merritt was temporarily suspended but has since resumed normal operations.
