During Disney's second-quarter earnings call, CEO Bob Iger asked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis if he wanted Disney to "pay more taxes or not," in the midst of a power struggle between the two. Disney has been locked in a feud with DeSantis since the company pushed back against a controversial bill, and the governor has since been trying to retaliate against the company. Disney is the largest taxpayer in Central Florida, paying over $1.1 billion in state and local taxes last year. The company has also been given special privileges to govern itself, which Iger says are a direct function of how much the company contributes to the state's economy.
