DeSantis Requests Florida Investigation into Disney's Legal Maneuvers

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has requested an investigation into Walt Disney Company's efforts to limit state oversight of development at Disney World. Last week, it was discovered that Disney had pushed through a development agreement that would allow the company to sidestep a new oversight board whose members were appointed by DeSantis. The previous Disney-controlled board passed restrictive covenants and a development agreement that gave the company vast control over future construction in the district, which the new board has limited say over. DeSantis has been battling with Disney over the governance of its theme park resort for the past year.
