Burbank brush fires trigger evacuations as crews gain containment

Two wildfires in the Burbank-Santa Clarita area stretched fire crews thin: the Walnut fire in Burbank’s Wildwood Canyon area grew to about 35 acres with evacuations, trail closures, and a Saturday night concert canceled, before being about 70% contained by nightfall; a separate Tasha fire near the I-5/14 junction in Santa Clarita burned roughly 20 acres with about 30% containment and evacuation warnings in parts of Newhall as crews continued firefighting on Saturday into Sunday.
