Toledo Ex-Wife Shooting: Man Convicted of Attempted Murder in Restaurant

An Ohio man and former attorney, Matthew Exton, was convicted of attempted murder and related felonies for pointing a handgun at his ex-wife in a Toledo restaurant in April 2025; the gun misfired due to the safety being on as patrons tackled him, and a Lucas County jury found him guilty on Sept. 4 (also convicting him of two counts of felonious assault and two firearm specifications), with sentencing scheduled for Sept. 21, 2026.
