Gilgo Beach killer Rex Heuermann gets life without parole in emotional Long Island sentencing
TL;DR
Rex Heuermann was sentenced to life in prison without parole for eight Gilgo Beach murders on Long Island, with the judge delivering the maximum terms as victims’ families delivered emotional statements. Heuermann spoke softly, offering little remorse, while prosecutors noted the long timeline of the case (1993–2010) and investigators continue to explore potential additional victims, including the unidentified “Asian Doe.” The sentencing concludes a decades-long, highly publicized investigation and public grief over the killings.
