Lawsuits Pile Up in Wake of Tops Mass Shooting Tragedy

Two new lawsuits have been filed alleging that social media companies, a gun accessory manufacturer, a firearms shop, a body armor dealer, and the parents of the accused Tops supermarket mass shooter facilitated and equipped the shooter for his racist attack. One lawsuit was filed by the son of a victim who alleges that the actions of these entities caused the wrongful death of his mother. The second lawsuit was filed by 14 Tops employees and customers who survived the attack and continue to suffer from trauma. The lawsuits seek to hold these defendants accountable for their alleged roles in enabling the mass shooting.
