Montgomery County educator charged in child sexual abuse material case

A 39-year-old special education teacher at Gwynedd Square Elementary in Lansdale (North Penn School District) was arrested Aug. 27 on charges of manufacturing and attempting to manufacture child sexual abuse materials after investigators say he used a messaging app to persuade two eight-year-old girls to perform sexually explicit acts for depictions. He has been placed on leave and barred from district property; officials say there is no evidence any district students were involved, and the investigation is ongoing.
