"Alaska Airlines Passenger Charged with Stabbing Fellow Traveler on Seattle-to-Vegas Flight"

A passenger on a Seattle-to-Vegas flight attacked a fellow traveler with a makeshift weapon made of pens and rubber bands, causing bloody injuries. The attacker, Julio Alvarez Lopez, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and claimed he believed the victim was a cartel agent following him. The victim, identified as a law enforcement officer, and his wife were injured in the unprovoked attack, which occurred mid-flight. Lopez was taken into custody upon landing and admitted to intending to kill the victim.
