Arrests made in tragic road rage shooting that claimed the life of a 4-year-old boy

A 29-year-old man, Byron Burkhart, has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and other offenses in the road rage shooting that killed a 4-year-old boy in Lancaster, California. Burkhart allegedly cut off the family's car, engaged in aggressive driving maneuvers, and fired eight shots into their vehicle, hitting the child. The boy was taken to the hospital but later died. Burkhart's girlfriend was also arrested but later released due to insufficient evidence. He is being held on $2 million bond and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
