Birmingham Police Chief Urges Parental Responsibility Amidst Teen Homicides.

Birmingham Police Chief Scott Thurmond addressed the recent homicides in the city, including the shooting death of a 16-year-old high school student, and emphasized the need for candid conversations about the causes of violence. Thurmond pointed out that many of the homicides could have been prevented if parents were more involved in their children's lives and held them accountable for their actions. He also stressed the importance of community involvement in policing each other and stopping illegal activities. So far this year, 26 people have been killed in Birmingham, with nine of those killings happening in the past nine days.
