Charges Dropped for 5 OKC Police Officers in Fatal Shooting of 15-Year-Old

Oklahoma County District Attorney Vicki Behenna has dropped charges against five Oklahoma City police officers involved in the shooting and killing of 15-year-old Stavian Rodriguez during an armed robbery in November 2020. The officers were initially charged with first-degree manslaughter, but the charges have now been dismissed. Video footage shows Rodriguez holding and dropping a gun before being shot by the officers. Another teenager who was charged with murder in connection with the incident had the charge dropped. Rodriguez's mother expressed her disappointment with the decision and called for changes in laws regarding police use of force.
