DC Police Lieutenant Indicted for Tipping Off Proud Boys Leader About Arrest

A D.C. police lieutenant, Shane Lamond, has been indicted for obstruction of justice and making false statements to police. He allegedly shared confidential information with Enrique Tarrio, a former leader of the Proud Boys, a far-right extremist group. Lamond and Tarrio were in regular contact for almost two years, discussing planned Proud Boys activities in the D.C. area, and Lamond would give Tarrio a heads-up about investigations into the group. Lamond faces more than 40 years in prison if convicted.
