Escaped Ohio Inmate's Body Found in Kentucky River

Bradley Gillespie, an inmate who escaped from an Ohio prison with another inmate, James Lee, was found dead in the Ohio River after a five-day manhunt involving 16 state and federal law enforcement agencies. Gillespie was convicted of two counts of murder in 2016 and was serving two consecutive sentences of 15 years to life. Lee was convicted in 2021 of burglary and safecracking and wasn’t expected to be released until 2041. The two fled the prison by “concealing themselves in a dumpster.” Lee was apprehended by authorities after a car chase, but Gillespie remained at large. His body was found floating in the Ohio River, and the cause of death is unknown.
