Fatal shooting by police in Portland neighborhood.

A man was shot and killed by a Louisville police officer while attempting to carjack the officers with a gun during an attempt to arrest a wanted person in the Portland neighborhood. The man was taken to the hospital but later died. The officer who fired his weapon is a 10-year veteran of LMPD. The wanted person was successfully apprehended and turned himself in. Kentucky State Police will lead the investigation.
