Florida Dentist Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murder-for-Hire Plot

A South Florida dentist, Charlie Adelson, has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his former brother-in-law, Dan Markel, a prominent professor at Florida State University. Adelson was found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy, and solicitation in the 2014 killing, which occurred during a bitter custody battle. Prosecutors argued that Adelson paid to have Markel killed, and he was convicted based on wiretaps and secretly recorded conversations. Adelson's sister, Wendi Adelson, who shared custody of the children with Markel, has denied involvement.
